Ukrainian collaborators with Russia in Kherson Oblast say they will ask Russia to set up a military base in the oblast.
Source: Kremlin-appointed so-called "deputy head of the military-civilian administration" of Kherson Oblast, Kyrylo Stremousov, in Kremlin-aligned Russian news agency RIA Novosti
Quote from Stremousov: "A Russian Federation military base must be located in Kherson Oblast. We will ask for this to happen."
Details: Stremousov claims that the military base will be an "urgently needed" "security guarantee" and that its presence in Kherson Oblast "is in the interest of the entire population [of the Oblast - ed.]."
Background: Earlier, Stremousov claimed that Kherson Oblast will never return to, in his words, "Nazi" Ukraine.
