Armed Forces of Ukraine repel eight attacks on Donbas by Russian occupying forces, destroying two dozen pieces of occupiers’ equipment

The Joint Forces Task Force has repelled 8 attacks by Russian occupiers in the east of Ukraine. Battles continue in 5 more locations, and 19 Russian armoured vehicles have been destroyed.

Along the entire line of defence, the enemy is using combat aircraft, multiple rocket launchers, large-calibre barrel artillery, tanks and mortars of various systems, and firing missiles and bombs on civil infrastructure facilities and peaceful residential areas.

Over the past 24 hours, the servicemen of the Joint Forces Task Force have destroyed:

  • 5 tanks
  • 10 armoured combat vehicles
  • 4 enemy vehicles (one with ammunition).

Air defence units shot down a Russian Orlan-10-type unmanned aerial vehicle in the sky over Ukrainian Donbas.

Details: During the 24 hours of 27 May, Russian invaders fired on 49 settlements in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts. Russian shelling in the Donetsk region damaged 22 civilian structures - 13 residential buildings, a construction plant, a farming enterprise, a fire department, a recreation centre and a service station - and cut off power to the filter pumping station. 

Three people have been killed as a result, and five more suffered injuries of varying severity. 

The occupiers’ losses in the Luhansk region are being clarified.

Military units of the Skhid (East) Operational and Tactical Group killed up to 60 Russian soldiers and destroyed 1 Russian infantry fighting vehicle, 1 artillery system and 2 artillery tractors.
