Ukrainian Armed Forces push Russian forces back in Kherson Oblast and repel an assault on Lysychansk – General Staff report

Ukrainian troops forced Russian occupying forces to retreat from their defence positions in Kherson Oblast and repelled Russian assaults on the Sloviansk and Sievierodonetsk fronts, as well as near Mariinka. However, the Russian occupiers were able to capture the village of Mykolaivka on the Bakhmut front.

Details: On the Sieverodonetsk front, Russian occupying forces fire on Lysychansk, Sievierodonetsk, Loskutiv, and Spirne with artillery. They conducted an airstrike on the area of Lysychansk and assault operations in the industrial district of Sievierodonetsk.

Ukrainian Defence Forces successfully repelled an assault on the southern district of Lysychansk. Russian troops conducted an artillery-supported assault on Vovchiarivka, where fighting continues.

On the Bakhmut front, the Russian occupiers fired on the areas around Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, and Maiorske with tube artillery and conducted airstrikes on the areas around Yakovlivka, Mykolaivka, and Pokrovske.

Russian forces captured the village of Mykolaivka. At the same time, Russian attempt to conduct reconnaissance-in-force on the Myronivka – Vuhlehir Power Plant front was unsuccessful: Russian troops suffered losses and retreated.

Russian Tu-22M3 planes conducted a missile strike on the city of Kostyantynivka.

On the Sloviansk front, Russia’s main efforts are focused on mounting an offensive on the Dovhenke – Dolyna front. Ukrainian troops successfully repelled Russian assault operations on the Sulyhivka – Virnopillia and Dibrivne – Kurulka fronts. Russian occupation forces remotely planted mines in the area around Dolyna.

On the Kramatorsk, Avdiivka, Novopavlivka, and Zaporizhzhia fronts, Russian forces exert systematic fire along the entire contact line in order to pin down Ukrainian forces and prevent them from being deployed on other, more active, fronts.

Russian aircraft conducted airstrikes in the vicinity of Pavlivka and Vuhledar. Russian forces also deployed artillery to fire on Siversk. Ukrainian forces once again repelled the Russian assault on Mariinka; Russian troops retreated.

Russia is attempting to create favourable conditions for mounting an offensive on the Izium – Barvinkove and Izium – Sloviansk fronts on the Slobozhanshchyna front.

On the Kharkiv front, units of Russian troops are conducting defence operations and trying to prevent Ukrainian Defence Forces from advancing towards the state border of Ukraine to the north and northeast of the city of Kharkiv. At the same time, Russian forces are attempting to conduct assault operations in order to improve their tactical positions. The aggressors fired on the areas around Ruska Lozova, Staryi Saltiv, Chuhuiv, Pechenihy, and Bairak with artillery.

There were no significant changes on the Volyn, Polissia, and Sivershchyna fronts. Russian forces opened fire on the village of Boiaro-Lezhachi in Sumy Oblast with artillery.

Four Russian naval cruise missile carriers remain in the waters of the Black and Azov seas.
