Zaluzhnyi on the supply of Western weapons: We will not allow them to fall into the hands of terrorists

The Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi, during a conversation with the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, assured him that Ukraine will not allow incoming Western weapons to fall into the hands of terrorists.

Quote from Zaluzhnyi: "We discussed the pace and volume of supplies of international technical assistance. I emphasized that the Ukrainian side is clearly aware of the responsibility for each weapon and will not allow it to fall into the hands of terrorists."

Details: Zaluzhnyi also talked about the current situation at the front. According to him, the invaders continue to focus their main efforts in the north of the Luhansk and Donetsk Oblasts, trying to oust the Ukrainian military from their positions.

Active combat operations are being conducted in the fronts of Izium-Sloviansk, Sviatohirsk-Sloviansk, Lysychansk-Soledar, Lysychansk-Siversk, Popasna-Soledar. The Armed Forces of Ukraine manage to repel massive enemy attacks. In the Kherson front, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to liberate Ukrainian territories. 

Background:

  •   Last week, Victoria Spartz appealed to US President Joe Biden to provide Congress with information on Andrii Yermak, and also expressed concerns about the supervision of arms supplies to Ukraine.
  •   The White House promised to respond to the appeal.
  •   On 14 July, the head of Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Yermak suggested the Verkhovna Rada to create a Temporary Special Commission that would monitor the use of weapons received from Ukraine's Western partners.
