Ukrainian Armed Forces repel Russian assault near Vuhlehirska Power Plant – General Staff report

Russian occupation forces have ramped up their use of aircraft in Donetsk Oblast. The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled a Russian offensive near the Vuhlehirska Thermal Power Plant.

Details: Units of Russian forces on the Sloviansk front are trying to improve their tactical positions and used mortars as well as tubed and rocket artillery to fire on the areas around Dolyna, Ivanivka, Barvinkove, Bohorodychne, Kutuzivka, Velyka Komyshuvakha, Tetianivka, Novomykolaivka and Kostiantynivka. Russian aircraft conducted an airstrike on the area around Maiaky. 

Ukrainian troops successfully repelled a Russian assault in the vicinity of the village of Kurulka.

On the Donetsk front, Russian forces continued to fire on the positions of Ukrainian Defence Forces along the entire front line. They deployed assault and army aircraft to conduct airstrikes in the area and conducted reconnaissance in order to establish the weak spots in Ukrainian troops’ defences.

Russian troops fired at civilian infrastructure in the areas of Siversk, Verkhnokamianske, Serebrianka, Spirne, Niu-York, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bilohorivka, Vyimka, Semyhiria, Travneve, Pokrovske and other towns and villages. In addition, the Russians conducted airstrikes near Niu-York, Nova Kamianka, Yakovlivka,  Ivano-Darivka and Avdiivka. 

Russian occupying forces conducted assault operations in an attempt to improve their tactical positions in the areas around Verkhnokamianske and Kamianka and to establish control over the Vuhlehirska Thermal Power Plant. However, Ukrainian forces inflicted losses on the Russian troops and forced them to retreat.

Russia did not undertake any active combat operations on the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts. Russian forces used artillery to fire at the positions of Ukrainian troops in the areas around Novoselivka Persha, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Vuhledar, Velyka Novosilka, Novoukrainka, Vremivka, Olhivske, Temyrivka, Bilohiria, Malynivka, Kamianske, Novoandriivka, Nevelske, Orikhiv and other towns and villages.

On the Pivdennyi Buh front, Russian occupying forces systematically fired at civilian and military infrastructure in the areas around Lymany, Posad-Pokrovske, Stepova Dolyna, Prybuzke, Oleksandrivka, Zoria, Kotliareve, Liubomyrivka, Novomykolaivka, Myrne, Kyselivka, Blahodatne, Kobzartsi, Yakovlivka, Bereznehuvate, Bila Krynytsia, Olhyne, Kniazivka, Ivanivka, Chervonyi Yar and a number of other towns and villages. Russian aircraft conducted an airstrike near Tavriiske.

On the Kharkiv front, Russian forces are trying to maintain their previously occupied positions. They used tanks, mortars and tubed and rocket artillery to fire at the city of Kharkiv and the towns and villages of Protopopivka, Prudianka, Svitlychne, Mykilske, Cherkaski Tyshky, Staryi Saltiv and Rubizhne. Russian aircraft conducted airstrikes near Petrivka. The Russians also deployed Orlan-10 UAVs to conduct aerial reconnaissance near Vasylenkove and Shevchenkove. 

There were no significant changes on the Volyn, Polissia, and Sivershchyna fronts. On the Sivershchyna front, the Russian army shelled the villages of Doroshivka and Hrabovske (Sumy Oblast).
