Almost UAH 40 billion worth of assets of Russian and Belarusian companies seized in Ukraine – National Police

During the five months of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, courts in Ukraine have seized assets of Russian and Belarusian companies worth UAH 39.5 billion.

This has been reported by the press service of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police.

"During the five months of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, according to the materials of the Department of Strategic Investigations and its structural divisions, the courts have seized the assets of Russian and Belarusian companies worth tens of billions of hryvnias, which will now work exclusively for the economy and the restoration of our state.

Since the beginning of the war, in the economic sphere, the department has issued indictments against 270 people in 67 criminal proceedings against pro-Russian businesses. In total, 407 suspicions were declared in 216 criminal proceedings and more than a thousand searches were conducted in the commercial sector," the report says.

As a result, among other things, law enforcement officers seized vehicles worth UAH 1.3 billion, which now serve the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"According to the Department's materials, drilling rigs, airlines, bank securities, aircraft engines, wagons and thousands of tons of fuel are not a complete list of assets seized by the court on the territory of Ukraine, the ultimate beneficiaries of which are citizens of the aggressor country," the National Police added.

The total amount of the seized assets reaches almost UAH 39.5 billion.
