Details: It is reported that all of them were part of the illegal armed formation of the so-called "4th Detached Motorised Rifle Battalion of the 119th Regiment of the DPR" [self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic]. They were captured in late March, during the liberation of the Sivershchyna area in the Sumy region.

According to the investigation, on 24 February, despite the fact that these people did not have military professions, they voluntarily joined the ranks of the militants. They received military uniforms, weapons and ammunition.

In early March, they underwent a short-term military training program in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, instructed by the Russian military. When it was over, they were sent to fight on the Sumy front.

The investigation found out that the occupiers were supposed to arrange and strengthen combat positions and checkpoints in the occupied territories, as well as to be on duty at checkpoints and Russian forces’ positions.
