Russian forces mount offensive near Vesela Dolyna, Zaitseve and Vodiane – General Staff report

Russian forces are attempting to wage offensive battles in the vicinity of Vesela Dolyna and Zaitseve. Most active hostilities are taking place on the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts. Russian forces are continuing to conduct airstrikes and missile strikes on military and civilian targets across the entire territory of Ukraine.

Details: Russia continues to maintain several units of its troops on the Sivershchyna front, in parts of Bryansk and Kursk oblasts (Russia) near the Russian-Ukrainian border. Russian forces used tubed artillery to shell civilian and military infrastructure in and around Kamianska Sloboda and Zaliznyi Mist (Chernihiv Oblast, Ukraine).

On the Kharkiv front, Russian forces fired on the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian infrastructure targets in and around Klenove, Dementiivka, Ruski Tyshky, Velyki Prokhody, Petrivka, Peremoha, Bairak and Shevelivka using tank guns, combat vehicles and tubed and rocket artillery. The Russians are continuing to use UAVs to conduct aerial reconnaissance in the area.

On the Sloviansk front, the Russians used tank guns, multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) and tubed artillery to fire on areas in and around Krasnopillia, Virnopillia and Hrushuvakha; they also used UAVs to conduct aerial reconnaissance.

Russia continues to engage in hostilities on the Donetsk front, where its efforts are focused on the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts in particular. Russian occupying forces are firing on the positions of Ukrainian troops and are attempting to improve their positions. They are also actively undertaking aerial reconnaissance.

On the Kramatorsk front, Russian forces used tubed and rocket artillery to fire on areas in and around Raihorodok, Berestove, Rozdolivka, Tetianivka, Mala Piskunivka, Verkhnokamianske, Ivano-Darivka and Siversk.

On the Bakhmut front, the Russians fired on military and civilian infrastructure in and around Bakhmutske, Soledar, Yakovlivka, Maiorsk and Dyliivka. Units of Russian troops attempted to wage offensive battles in the vicinity of Vesela Dolyna and Zaitseve.

On the Avdiivka front, Russian forces fired on areas in and around Opytne, Pervomaiske and Niu-York using tubed and rocket artillery, as well as tank guns, and conducted airstrikes on areas in and around Vremivka, Neskuchne and Oleksandropil.

On the Novopavlivka front, Russian forces fired on Ukrainian positions near Zolota Nyva using tank guns, tubed artillery and MLRS and conducted an airstrike near Mar’inka. They made an unsuccessful attempt to wage an offensive battle in the vicinity of Vodiane.

On the Zaporizhzhia front, the Russians used tank guns as well as tubed and rocket artillery to fire on the positions of Ukrainian troops in the vicinity of Novopil, Olhivske, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Novoiakovlivka, Dorozhnianka, Zelene Pole, Charivne and Bilohiria.

On the Pivdennyi Buh front, Russian troops' main efforts are focused on maintaining their current positions and replenishing losses. They used tanks guns as well as tubed and rocket artillery to fire on Ukrainian positions along the entire line of contact, and fired on civilian and military infrastructure targets in and around Stepova Dolyna, Novomykolaivka, Stepove, Partyzanske, Andriivka, Myrne, Prybuzke, Mykolaivka, Zoria, Luch, Ivanivka, and Kniazivka. In addition, they used UAVs to conduct aerial reconnaissance on the Pivdennyi Buh front. The Russians are also continuing their attempts to improve their ability to deliver supplies to their troops.

There were no significant changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts, where units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are continuing to reinforce the security of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in Brest and Gomel oblasts (Belarus). There is still a threat of Russian missile and air strikes being carried out from the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

Russian ships [in the waters of the Black and Azov seas - ed.] are continuing to conduct reconnaissance and block civilian shipping in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.
