Quote: "The evacuation has indeed ended.

It was not forcible, we gave people the opportunity to leave the line of fire, from the area of Kherson Oblast attacked by the Nazis."

Details: However, neither the occupiers nor Russian propaganda give the exact number of the residents of Kherson Oblast who evacuated.

Background:

  • Earlier, Stremousov reported that Ukrainian troops were preparing for an offensive on Kherson.
  • Volodymyr Saldo, the Russian-appointed puppet governor of Kherson Oblast, even turned to the Russian government with a request to help the occupying administration to evacuate the local population from the region. Russian authorities claimed that everyone who evacuates from the Kherson region to Russia will be provided with "free accommodation". Saldo also claimed that the occupying administration of Kherson Oblast had decided to move to the left bank of the Dnipro river.
  • Additionally, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russians had begun to evacuate the so-called "state institutions" from the occupied part of Kherson Oblast to occupied Crimea.
  • It also became known that the occupiers were evacuating collaborators and their families from occupied Kherson to occupied Crimea.
