Zelenskyy: Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated 29 settlements in eastern Ukraine this week

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated 776 square kilometres and 29 towns and villages in eastern Ukraine, including six in Luhansk Oblast, over the course of this week.

Details: Zelenskyy said that Southern Ukraine has likewise seen some "good results" this week.

"We are liberating our land and our people from the [results of the sham] referendum every day."

Background:

  • At the beginning of October, the Ukrainian military liberated the city of Lyman, Donetsk Oblast. They also liberated the village of Torske near Lyman and began to attack Russian units in Kreminna.
  • On 5 October, it became known that the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated six settlements of Luhansk Oblast.
  • On 6 October, Serhii Haidai, Head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, reported that Ukrainian defenders liberated the village of Grekivka in Luhansk Oblast.
