Reasons for the meeting have not been disclosed.

As previously reported, Russia has carried out a massive missile strike on Ukraine’s territory on Tuesday afternoon, 15 November; missiles hit not far from the border with Poland.

A journalist of Radio Zet has unofficially reported that two missiles fell in the village of Przewodów near the border with Ukraine. They struck grain dryers. Two people were reported killed. Representatives of the police, the prosecutor’s office, and armed forces have arrived at the scene.

At the same time, Radio Lublin has provided another version of events. The incident in Przewodów happened at approximately 15:40 on the transshipment weigh-in point where loaded tractors go. The local police confirmed this information to the radio station. According to the preliminary information, a tractor that entered that transshipment weigh-in point suddenly exploded. The radio station has also reported the death of two people.

The Committee of the Council of Ministers for National Security and Defence was established in October 2020 by a decree of the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. It was first headed by Jarosław Kaczyński, leader of the Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (Law and Justice) party, who was Deputy Prime Minister for Defence at the time. The committee consists of the Deputy Prime Minister (appointed by the Head of Government), the Head of the Ministry of Defense, the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Minister of Justice, the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services and the Head of Diplomacy.

"The Committee deals with coordinating the preparation, activities, and efficient decision-making regarding national security and defence, as well as preparation of propositions to the Council of Ministers or the Prime Minister for these matters," the Polish government explained.
