According to him, it is expected that people will be able to stay in the shelters for a maximum of an hour.

Quote: "We do not want to hang direction signs [to the shelters – ed.], taking into account the experience of [Russian] border objects, and we will not yet, so as not to disturb our population," he said.

Background:

  • On 6 December, Viacheslav Gladkov, Governor of Belgorod Oblast [Russia], announced the beginning of the formation of territorial defence battalions, which, if necessary, will be ready to "protect" the oblast.
  • Gladkov also posted pictures of the defensive ‘zasechnaya’ line [Great Abatis Line – ed.], which the Russians built on the border with Ukraine.
