Russian shelling blacks out electricity on railway in four oblasts

A number of areas of the railway in Kharkiv, Kirovohrad (Kropyvnytskyi), Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts have lost power as a result of a massive Russian attack on energy facilities.

"Due to damage to the energy infrastructure, a number of railway sections in Kharkiv, Kirovohrad  (Kropyvnytskyi), Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts have lost power," the message says.

The company adds that currently electric passenger trains in these oblasts will be driven by backup diesel locomotives.

"Keep calm, follow information updates on Ukrzaliznytsia’s official channels and at train stations. Boarding and disembarking continues through underground passages," Ukrzaliznytsia said.
