Danilov responds to Peskov: There are no new territories of Russia, Russia's reality is defeat and collapse

Oleksii Danilov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, reacted to the claim by Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson of the President of Russia, who stated that Russia will not leave the occupied territories of Ukraine voluntarily, and all "peaceful" agreements must take into account "new Russian territories."

Quote: "There is no reality, which ‘new territories of Russia’ are a part of. It is time that the spokespeople of the Kremlin leave this condition of informational nonsense. The Russian reality is shame, defeat and collapse.

There can be no ‘peaceful plan’ without taking these factors into account. Talking to Iblises (the leader of the devils in Islam – ed.) makes you detached from reality."

Previously: Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson of the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, stated that any "peace" with Ukraine must proceed from the premise that the Russian army will not leave the captured territories or return control over them to Kyiv.

Background:

  • Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, is pretending that he wants to negotiate with Ukraine but the Ukrainian authorities have allegedly rejected his attempts. He is ready to continue the war until Kyiv changes its position.
  • The USA believes that Russia may use diplomatic negotiations with Ukraine concerning stopping the war as a trick for improving its tactical position on the front.
  • Great Britain also confirmed that Putin may use negotiations in order to gather troops before a renewed offensive.
  • The analysts of the Institute of the Study of War are convinced that Putin has no interest in negotiations with Ukraine which would lead to stable peace but is instead trying to manipulate Western leaders, worsen the relations between Kyiv and its Western partners, and give his troops an opportunity to regroup.
  • Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, and his team state that the prerequisite of peaceful negotiations with Russia is the withdrawal of the Russian troops from Ukraine, and that the war will be over only after Ukraine liberates all its territories including Donbas and Crimea.
