Ukraine’s Armed Forces repel Russian attacks near 17 settlements – General Staff

Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled the occupiers’ attacks in areas of 17 settlements of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts on 3 December.

Details: Over the past 24 hours, units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled the occupiers’ attacks near the settlements of Ploshchanka and Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast; Berestove, Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Opytne, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Kurdiumivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Vesele, Marinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast.

Invaders carried out 10 missile attacks and 16 airstrikes, as well as fired more than 30 times from multiple-rocket launchers on positions of the Ukrainian troops and settlements along the frontline over the past day. Civilian infrastructure facilities of the settlements of Shevchenkove (Kharkiv Oblast) and Kramatorsk (Donetsk Oblast) were affected by missile strikes. 

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has pointed out that a threat of the Russians launching missiles on the energy system or critical infrastructure throughout the entire Ukraine remains.

There are no significant changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts, no signs of formation of offensive units have been detected.

On the Sivershchyna front, Russians attacked from mortars the vicinities of the settlements of Sopych and Tymofiivka in Sumy Oblast. 

On the Slobozhanshchyna front, more than 10 settlements came under artillery fire. This includes Odnorobivka, Strilecha, Neskuchne, Ternova, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Cherniakiv, Chuhunivka and Dvorichna in Kharkiv Oblast. 

On the Kupiansk and Lyman fronts, Russians are on the defencive. They used tanks and artillery of different calibres to attack areas in and around Synkivka, Tabaivka, Berestove and Vyshneve in Kharkiv Oblast; Makiivka, Ploshchanka and Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts, the occupiers are concentrating their main efforts on conducting offensive actions and trying to improve their tactical position. They used tank guns, mortars and tubed and rocket artillery to fire on the settlements of Serebrianka, Verkhmiokamianske, Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Kurdiumivka, Pivdenne, Avdiivka, Opytne, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Vesele, Marinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Novopavlivka front, Russians are on the defencive. Areas in and around Velyka Novosilka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka and Zolota Nyva in Donetsk Oblast came under fire.

On the Zaporizhzhia front, the Russian are on the defencive as well. They shelled the city of Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

On the Kherson front, the occupiers are defending previously taken lines. They hit positions of Ukrainian forces and settlements of Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson oblasts with mortars, tubed and rocket artillery. Civilians of Kherson city are under constant fire terror. 

As per the clarified information from the General Staff, up to 70 injured and 230 killed Russian invaders were taken to hospitals of temporarily occupied settlements in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts on 28-30 November 2022. Moreover, another batch of injured soldiers along with bodies of killed occupiers were transferred to a local hospital in Melitopol on 2 December.

The report notes that looting and robbery in temporarily occupied territories continues. Russian invaders are taking out all products and equipment, including freezers and cash registers, from shops in Nova Kakhovka [Kherson Oblast]. Up to 100 occupiers arranged a check of local residents’ documents and seizure of valuable items and electronics in Novomykolaivka [Zaporizhzhia Oblast] on 2 December.

Moreover, in the temporarily occupied settlements of Kherson Oblast, Russians are threatening locals to deprive them of their parental rights so that they send their children to educational establishments with Russian school programs.

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian Air Forces carried out 22 airstrikes on clusters of manpower, weapons and military equipment of the occupiers, as well as 3 strikes on positions of anti-aircraft missile systems. Ukrainian defenders also shot down one Russian Su-25 attack jet and one Orlan-10 UAV. 

Units of Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery hit two command posts, an ammunition storage point, three clusters of manpower, weapons and military equipment and a cluster of artillery weapons over the past day.
