Kremlin states that Russia might end war even tomorrow, but there is a condition

Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of the aggressor country’s president, has stated that Russia could end the war in Ukraine at the will of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. At the same time, Peskov said that the Russian troops want to retake the territories liberated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, because Russians consider them "occupied".

Quote from Peskov: "You can speculate until blue in the face when it all [the war – ed.] can end. Zelenskyy knows when it all might end, it all might end tomorrow if he [Zelenskyy] wishes."

Details: At the same time, commenting on the words of Vladimir Putin about the "accession of new territories", Peskov made it clear that the Kremlin is eager to win back the oblasts liberated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He repeated Putin's statement that he [Putin] declared the partially captured oblasts annexed in order to "protect" the people of Donbas.

Therefore, Peskov said, the Russian occupiers intend to recapture the territories liberated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, because according to the Kremlin, Ukrainian lands are "occupied by Kyiv."

Background:

On 7 December, Putin acknowledged that the seizure of new territories was a significant result of the so-called "special operation" in Ukraine [the official term used by Russians to describe the ongoing war with Ukraine – ed.].

At the same time, Putin said that the Russian military sometimes left their positions, but this was not a problem for Russia.

On 5 December, Zelenskyy said that Russia’s latest massive missile attack on Ukraine on the anniversary of the signing of the Budapest Memorandum proved that no agreements with the terrorist state were possible.
