Turkey supports Ukrainian Peace Formula
Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkey, has expressed support for the "peace formula" proposed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, at the G20 summit in November 2022.

The head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry emphasised that Ankara was making efforts to resolve the war in Ukraine, and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkey, has sought to achieve both a ceasefire and lasting peace from the beginning of the conflict.
"Certainly, our goal is a lasting peace and a mutually acceptable solution. We believe that this war will end at the negotiating table. The sooner it happens, the better," Çavuşoğlu said.
"However, there are new conditions and realities. Russia is now expressing readiness for negotiations, and [President of Ukraine Volodymyr] Zelenskyy has proposed a ten-point peace plan. As Turkey, we support this plan and continue our work," Çavuşoğlu added.
From the very beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Turkey refused to introduce sanctions against Russia, declaring Ankara’s role as a mediator between the warring parties.
In an address to Congress in December 2022, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, has said that he had discussed the Ukrainian peace formula with Joe Biden, and the President of the United States of America has supported the idea of holding a peace summit. There are currently no details on the summit, but it is known that they want to convene it this winter.
