Shelling of Kherson: number of people killed increases to 2

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of Ukraine's President, has reported Russian attacks on the city of Kherson; one person has been killed.

Quote from Yermak: "The Russians again attacked Kherson. A private residential building has been damaged as a result of the attack. One casualty was reported. In addition, one person has been killed."

 


Quote: "According to the investigation, on 28 February, the Russian army once again shelled residential areas of the city of Kherson and suburban settlements. As a result of a projectile hitting near a residential building, a man died in the regional centre. The paramedics tried to save another civilian who came under fire in the village, but the injuries were not compatible with life."

Background: According to the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces, the Russian occupation forces shelled the areas of 25 settlements in Kherson Oblast, located on the right bank of the Dnipro River, including Havrylivka, Kachkarivka, Vesele, Tiahynka, Inzhenerne, Antonivka, Berehove and the city of Kherson. 

Five dwellings in a residential area have been damaged as a result of Russian artillery shelling of Kozatske and Vesele villages in the Kakhovka district.

Three people have been wounded in Kherson Oblast over the past day as a result of Russian aggression.

Thirty-nine people, including 10 children and one person with reduced mobility, have been evacuated from the liberated territories of Kherson Oblast by road.
