Civilians blown up by landmines in three oblasts in one day

Three civilians were blown up by landmines in Kherson, Chernihiv and Kharkiv oblasts on 17 March.

Details: Kherson Oblast Military Administration reported that a 57-year-old man who was collecting firewood stepped on a Russian landmine in the village of Mala Seidemynukha in Kalynivka hromada [an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories – ed.]. The victim was left without a part of his left leg, and he also suffered shrapnel wounds to his right leg in the explosion.

The ambulance took the victim who was in critical condition to the nearest medical facility. Doctors are fighting for his life.

Another case occurred near Skorynets village, Chernihiv Oblast. The State Emergency Service reported that a tractor blew up on an anti-tank mine around 11:00.

A tractor driver born in 1982 was wounded. A bomb disposal team arrived at the scene.

 

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, reported that a 66-year-old woman who was in the forest walked upon the Peliustka anti-personnel mine in Izium. She was taken to the hospital with severe wounds. Doctors are now providing the woman with all the necessary assistance.
