Zelenskyy spoke with UK Prime Minister about security guarantees for Ukraine and strengthening sanctions against Russia

Details: According to the Ukrainian president, during the conversation, they discussed the defence needs of Ukraine and further cooperation between the two countries to "expand Ukraine's capabilities on the battlefield, in particular through long-range weapons".
Zelenskyy and Sunak also coordinated their positions on the eve of the Vilnius NATO summit and discussed steps to implement the "Peace Formula and prepare security guarantees for Ukraine.
"I emphasized the need to increase sanctions pressure on Russia, particularly because of Russia's ramping up production of missiles using Western components," Zelenskyy added.
Background: As it is known, at the July NATO summit in Vilnius, Ukraine is also seeking to achieve precise wording regarding the prospect of obtaining membership in the North Atlantic alliance while criticising the decision of the Bucharest Summit, which is "as far away from reality as possible".
In addition, Ukraine expects the summit to provide security guarantees for the period up to membership in the Alliance and not as an alternative to entry.
