Russian attack on Kryvyi Rih: death toll rises to 5 civilians, 64 injured

5 people were killed, including a child, and 64 people injured in the Russian missile strike on Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, on 31 July.

Quote: "As of now, there is information on five victims, among them a child and her mother. My condolences to the family. Dozens of people are injured and wounded, everyone receives the necessary help."

Details: Zelenskyy added that reportedly, there was a hit by two ballistic missiles.

Currently, a rescue operation is underway – the floors of an apartment building, from the third to the eighth floor, are completely destroyed. Parts of the structure fell onto the entrance of the building."

Zelenskyy also said that a university building and an administrative building were also targeted by Russian terrorists.

More than 350 people are involved in the rescue operation. "I thank everyone who saves lives and helps people!", Zelenskyy posted.

Subsequently, Oleksandr Vikul, the head of the Defence Council of Kryvyi Rih, said that the number of wounded had increased to 73 people, including 8 children. There are 22 wounded in hospital, including 2 children. Two people are in serious condition.

According to Vikul, the authorities of Kryvyi Rih declared 1 August a day of mourning in the city.

Updated on 17:55: Serhii Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration, reported that the death toll has risen to 6, and the number of injured to 75. Out of the 22 hospitalised people 2 are in severe condition.

Earlier: On the morning of 31 July, explosions rang out in the city of Kryvyi Rih, with the Russians launching a missile attack on the city, targeting a high-rise residential building, as well as an educational institution. Four residents died as a result, among them a child. The search through the rubble continues.
