Kyiv insists a peace formula summit might be held during the UN General Assembly. However, Bloomberg adds that some of Ukraine's allies are against this for logistical reasons, as well as because of the need to first secure support in the Global South.

Another option under discussion is a meeting of the UN Security Council, which Russia could attend, but no final decisions have been made yet.

As for the Russian president, Bloomberg's sources do not expect him to attend the UN High-Level Week, pointing out that after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant, his foreign travel has been severely restricted.

The High-Level Week is the culmination of the UN General Assembly session starting each September. Highest representatives of UN member states – presidents, heads of government and foreign ministers – participate in the meeting. Last year, the Ukrainian president participated in the week remotely.

Zelenskyy’s peace formula will be discussed by representatives of several dozen countries during a gathering in Saudi Arabia on 5-6 August.
