Russian forces attack Sumy Oblast 20 times, injuring 4 civilians

Over the course of 22 August, Russian forces attacked Sumy Oblast 20 times, causing 115 explosions and injuring 4 civilians.

Details: Russian forces launched mortar bombs (causing three explosions) and unguided air-to-surface missiles on Velyka Pysarivka hromada, which they also fired on using SPG guns (causing four explosions). [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a city, town or village and its adjacent territories – ed.]

Russian forces also deployed mortars to fire on Krasnopillia hromada, causing 18 explosions; they deployed self-propelled artillery systems to shell the hromada and fired using AGS grenade launchers, causing nine explosions.

The Russians launched mortar bombs on Khotin hromada, causing eight explosions.

They also launched mortar bombs on Seredyna-Buda hromada (eight explosions), injuring four civilians and damaging seven cars. The Russians also deployed kamikaze drones to attack the hromada, causing two explosions and damaging a multi-storey residential building.

Russian forces launched four mortar bombs on Druzhba hromada and deployed AGS grenade launchers to attack it, causing 30 explosions.

Six explosions occurred in Esman hromada as a result of Russian mortar attacks.

Russian forces also launched nine mortar bombs on Bilopillia hromada.
