Moscow mayor reports large-scale drone attack on Russian Central Federal District

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin has said there was a large-scale drone attack in the Central Federal District on the night of 29-30 August. Sobyanin has claimed that a drone, which was flying to Moscow, was allegedly downed in Ruzsky District.

Sobyanin said air-defence forces in Ruzsky District destroyed one of the drones flying toward Moscow.

As always, the Russian authorities declared that "there were no casualties and no destruction". However, "emergency services are working at the scene".

Background: Four Il-76 aircraft were damaged at the military airfield in Russian Pskov as a result of a drone attack.

The Russian Defence Ministry claimed drones were downed over Bryansk, Oryol, Kaluga and Ryazan oblasts on the night of 29-30 August.
