Kherson Mayor in Russian captivity and ready to be exchanged

The International Committee of the Red Cross has confirmed the status of Ihor Kolykhaiev, the captured mayor of Kherson.

Details: The status of the mayor was officially confirmed on 13 September.

Quote: "I contacted the Red Cross and was told that the Russian side had put my father on the list of prisoners and that he was on the territory of the Russian Federation.

They did not say where exactly he was and what his health condition was. His status was also updated in the personal account of the coordination headquarters."

Background: In June 2022, the Russians abducted Kolykhaiev after conducting a search at his workplace.
