Quote: "Addressing Belarusians today, as president and commander-in-chief, I want to assure you: we do not want to fight, and we will not fight. There will be no war on the territory of Belarus in the current conditions. Because it is impossible."

[The Brest Fortress is one of the most important Soviet World War II monuments, famous for the story of Soviet soldiers heroically defending it against the German army in the early days of Operation Barbarossa - ed.]

The self-proclaimed president also assured the representatives of neighbouring peoples, including Ukrainians, that Belarusians are "the most peace-loving nation on earth".

"No matter what internal political events are taking place in neighbouring countries, the people, I repeat - Poles, Lithuanians, Latvians, Ukrainians - must understand that we are the most peace-loving nation on earth. We will not brandish our fists and threaten anyone either with nuclear weapons, or with any units, Wagnerites or otherwise," Lukashenko said.

It is important to note that at the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, part of the Russian army marched in from the territory of "peace-loving" Belarus. In addition, numerous missile strikes have been repeatedly inflicted on Ukraine from Belarus.
