Almost hundred combat engagements take place over past day – General Staff

A total of 98 combat engagements took place at the front on 25 December: 40 attacks were repelled by the Ukrainian Defence Forces on the Avdiivka front, 29 on the Lyman front and 7 on the Zaporizhzhia front.

Quote from the General Staff: "A total of 98 combat engagements took place yesterday. The enemy launched a missile strike and 42 airstrikes, and fired 56 times from multiple-launch rocket systems on our troops' positions and populated areas."

Details: In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group on the Kupiansk front, Ukrainian defenders repelled six Russian attacks near the settlement of Synkivka (Kharkiv Oblast), where the Russians were trying to break through the Ukrainian defences.

On the Lyman front, the defenders repelled 29 Russian attacks near Serebrianka Forest (Luhansk Oblast) and Vesele (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Bakhmut front, Ukrainian soldiers repelled four Russian attacks near the settlement of Bohdanivka (Donetsk Oblast). 

In the area of responsibility of the Tavriia Operational Strategic Group on the Avdiivka front, Ukrainian Defence Forces persisted in holding back the Russians, as they kept trying to encircle the town of Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the Russians. Ukrainian defenders repelled 27 Russian attacks east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove and Avdiivka, and 13 more near Pervomaiske and Nevelske (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Marinka front, Ukrainian defenders are holding back the Russians near Novomykhailivka (Donetsk Oblast), repelling six attacks in the area.

On the Shakhtarsk front, Ukrainian defenders repelled three Russian attacks near Staromaiorske (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Zaporizhzhia front, Ukrainian troops repelled seven Russian attacks near Robotyne and west of Verbove (Zaporizhzhia Oblast). 

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa Operational Strategic Group on the Kherson front, Ukrainian soldiers continue their efforts to expand their bridgehead. The Russians, despite their significant losses, keep trying o drive Ukrainian units from their positions. They carried out 12 unsuccessful assault operations but received a worthy response from Ukrainian defenders and retreated. 

Meanwhile, Ukrainian defenders are taking active steps to inflict losses in military personnel and equipment on the occupation forces, exhausting the enemy along the entire line of contact. 

Ukraine's Air Force struck four areas where Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment were concentrated.

Units from Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery struck four clusters of Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment, two ammunition storage points and three anti-aircraft missile systems belonging to the Russians.
