Large-scale attack on Kharkiv: 1 killed, over 40 wounded, 4 in critical condition

Russia launched a massive missile strike on Kharkiv on the morning of 2 January, striking residential areas of the city, killing one person and injuring 40 more.

Quote from Terekhov: "There are several hits in the centre of Kharkiv, in residential areas. A fire has broken out there, and emergency service personnel have arrived at the scene. Information about the casualties is currently being established."

Details: Prior to that, Terekhov reported that Kharkiv had been under a massive missile attack and that explosions had been heard in the city.

Update: Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, reported at 08:43 that one person had been killed and more than 20 others wounded in the Russian attacks.

Quote from Syniehubov: "At around 07:30, the occupiers struck the central part of Kharkiv, the Shevchenkivskyi district. The type of missile is being established. At the moment, there are more than 20 casualties. One person has been killed."

Details: Syniehubov said that apartment buildings, outbuildings and other civilian infrastructure facilities have been damaged in the city, and cars have caught fire.

Later, Syniehubov reported that doctors were providing assistance to 22 injured, and 16 people had been taken to hospital.

A few minutes later, the number of wounded had risen to 41. Syniehubov specified that a woman had been killed.

At 10:00, Syniehubov stated that the Russians had fired at least six missiles on the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city.

There are two children among the 41 injured who are in hospital. 15 adults were also taken to hospital. Four people are in a critical condition.
