Russian forces hit Vovchansk and cemetery in Kupiansk

Russian troops struck Kharkiv Oblast late on the evening of 27 January and on the night of 27-28 January, however no civilians were injured.

Details: The Russians opened fire on the town of Vovchansk (Chuhuiv district) around 21:00 and then again after midnight.

The Russian army attacked the town of Kupiansk at 22:40. The bombardment damaged the cemetery.

Russian artillery and mortars targeted around 20 settlements over the past 24 hours.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled seven Russian attacks near the settlements of Synkivka and Tabaivka (Kupiansk district).

Furthermore, the Russians targeted the town of Nikopol and Marhanets hromada (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast) three times in the evening, firing over a dozen projectiles [a hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.].

Apart from the five people killed in the village of New-York, Donetsk Oblast, three more were injured in the settlement of Myrnohrad (Donetsk Oblast) over the past 24 hours.
