Russians strike power facilities in Kirovohrad Oblast

A Russian missile attack launched on the morning of 4 January resulted in strikes on facilities belonging to the power companies Ukrenergo and Kirovohradoblenergo (Kirovohrad Oblast Energy).

Details: The Ministry of Energy reported that domestic consumers and the railway had been left without power. Repair work is ongoing.

Nonetheless, the damage did not cause any outages in the main transmission network.

"The situation is under control," the Ministry of Energy stressed.

In addition to this, Ukrenergo reports that one of the company’s repair production facilities has been damaged. Some of Kirovohradoblenergo’s overhead power lines were damaged by missile debris.

An Ukrenergo employee was killed by falling missile debris, and four others were injured.

Two Kirovohradoblenergo employees were injured.
