Russian strike on Kharkiv hypermarket: number of casualties rises, 16 missing

The death toll from the Russian attack on the Epicentr hypermarket in Kharkiv has risen to 6, and the number of wounded to 40.

Quote: "We now know three people were killed in the attack on the home improvement hypermarket.

Another 38 sustained injuries."

Details: Terekhov later reported 4 dead and 40 wounded.

Update: At 22:00, Syniehubov reported that six people were killed on the spot at the Epicentr hypermarket.

40 people have been injured. 16 people are still missing.

An emergency response headquarters has been deployed at the site. A mobile DNA laboratory is in operation.

Background:

• Russian forces struck an Epicentr home improvement hypermarket in Kharkiv on the afternoon of  Saturday, 25 May, killing two. Earlier, officials said two civilians were killed and 35 sustained injuries.
• Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that up to 200 people might have been at the store at the time of the attack.
• By 17:45 (Kyiv time) on 25 May, the fire that broke out as a result of the Russian strike on the Epicentr store in Kharkiv had been contained.
