Epicentr K said that their staff did everything they could to evacuate the store’s customers and other members of staff from the premises after an air-raid warning was issued.

"Still, two strikes on the building’s main part occurred moments after the air-raid warning was issued. A large fire broke out as a result of the attack," Epicentr K explained.

The group of companies also said that two of the store’s employees were killed, and the whereabouts of 11 others are unknown. The information about the store’s customers who sustained injuries in the attack is being constantly updated.

Epicentr K said that Russian forces have already destroyed six other Epicentre stores – in Mariupol, Chernihiv, Bucha, Kharkiv, Kherson and Nikopol. A number of other Epicentre stores were forced to close because of their proximity to combat action, shelling, or Russian occupation.

The store that was attacked in Kharkiv today first opened in 2014, and occupied the area of 13,300 square metres.
