German foreign minister travels to China where she'll talk about Ukraine

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock will travel to China on 1 December amid Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine and debates over additional duties on Chinese electric vehicles.

Details: As part of her visit, Baerbock will meet with her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing on 2 December and hold further political talks, including with representatives of German business.

The German Foreign Ministry has announced that Baerbock will discuss Russian aggression in Ukraine, the human rights situation in China, and the trade conflict between the European Union and Beijing over duties on electric vehicles.

From Beijing, the German foreign minister plans to travel to Brussels for a two-day meeting of NATO foreign ministers on 3-4 December.

The German Foreign Ministry announced that they would discuss further support for Ukraine, the threat of hybrid attacks, and Moscow's increasingly close cooperation with China, North Korea and Iran.
