The European Union has been a key donor to Ukraine's budget, providing US$50 billion since the start of the full-scale invasion.

Quote: "Over the 35 months of full-scale war, we have secured more than US$50 billion for the state budget from the EU and European countries," the statement says.

This year, Ukraine received its first €3 billion from European partners, which will be backed by revenue from frozen Russian assets, Shmyhal said.

  • Ukraine has received €3 billion from the EU under the ERA initiative, marking the first tranche of funds backed by revenue from frozen Russian assets. 
  • The US has also sent US$1 billion, secured in the same way. 
  • Additionally, Japan will provide US$3 billion to Ukraine, supported by frozen Russian assets.
