Lviv delays start of heating season following Russian strikes

The city of Lviv has pushed back the start of the heating season by several weeks due to Russia's recent attacks.

Quote: "The current situation in the country means we cannot begin supplying heat for the next few weeks. We need to wait a little to ensure everything is done properly – so that homes stay warm in winter."
Details: Sadovyi urged residents to prepare alternative sources of heating and to help others who are unable to do so on their own.
The mayor also announced that starting from 11 October, Lviv will carry out a number of inspections.
Quote: "We need to check all our resources, systems, supplies and response speed. We do this every year, but for the first time it will happen across the whole city."
More details: He added that over the weekend, traffic lights across the city will be disconnected from the main grid and switched to backup power sources to ensure they function during blackouts.
