The Russians attacked Ukraine with 205 attack UAVs from the evening of 31 December to the morning of 1 January. A total of 176 UAVs were downed or jammed; at the same time, hits by 24 attack UAVs were recorded at 15 locations.

Quote: "On the night of 31 December – 1 January 2026 (from 18:00 on 31 December 2025), the enemy has attacked using 205 attack UAVs of the Shahed and Gerbera types, as well as drones of other types, launched from the following directions: Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Millerovo in the Russian Federation; Chauda and Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea; the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk. Approximately 130 of these drones were Shaheds.

The air attack was repelled by Ukrainian aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units as well as mobile fire groups from the defence forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 08:30, air defence forces had shot down or suppressed 176 enemy UAVs of the Shahed and Gerbera types, as well as drones of other types, in the north, south and east of the country."

Details: Meanwhile, hits by 24 attack UAVs were recorded at 15 locations.

The Air Force noted that the attack is still ongoing, with several Russian UAVs still in Ukrainian airspace.
