Russia attacked Ukraine with 165 UAVs, around 100 of which were Shaheds, and nine Iskander-M ballistic missiles or S-300 surface-to-air missiles on the night of 4-5 January. The Air Force reports that 137 drones have been downed or jammed, but missile hits have been recorded.

Details: Overall, since 18:00 on 4 January, the Russians launched nine Iskander-M ballistic missiles or S-300 surface-to-air missiles from Bryansk and Voronezh oblasts, as well as 165 attack UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types from the Russian cities of Millerovo, Kursk, Shatalovo and Oryol.

It is reported that around 100 of the drones were Shaheds.

The Russian attack is still ongoing, with several Russian UAVs in the airspace.

The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces.

Background: On the night of 4-5 January, the Russian army attacked Kyiv, causing a fire at a medical facility and killing one person. Later, the number of people injured in the attack on Kyiv rose to four, with two in a serious condition.
