Details: The ministry said those killed were nationals of Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. It noted that the fatalities had been caused by Iranian drones that had "made it through the UAE air defences" and caused "damage on the ground".

At least 58 other people suffered minor injuries.

The statement said Iran had fired 165 ballistic missiles on the UAE, 152 of which were shot down by air defences and 13 landed in the sea. A further two cruise missiles were detected and destroyed.

The ministry added that Iran launched 541 drones. The UAE air defences intercepted 506 of them and 35 fell within the country's territory.

Quote: "Some debris fell in scattered areas of the country as a result of air defence systems intercepting ballistic missiles and drones, leading to minor and moderate material damage in a number of civilian properties."

Background: The UAE said earlier that its air defences had intercepted 94.5% of the ballistic missiles and attack drones launched by Iran on 28 February.
