Iran says it will not negotiate with US
Iran will not hold negotiations with the United States, said Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran and a key adviser to the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Quote from Larijani, responding to reports that Iran had approached the US through intermediaries to resume talks: "We will not negotiate with the United States".
Details: Larijani added that US President Donald Trump "has plunged the region into chaos with his false hopes and is now worried about further losses among American troops".
"With his actions, he has turned his own slogan 'America First' into 'Israel First' and has sacrificed American soldiers for Israel's pursuit of power," he said.
Background:
- On the morning of 28 February, Trump announced that the US had launched a large-scale operation against Iran. Israel also carried out strikes.
- Iran responded by launching strikes on several Gulf states where US military bases are located.
- Trump said on Sunday 1 March that the US operation in Iran is "moving along very well, very well – ahead of schedule".
