Rubio: Hardest US strikes on Iran are yet to come

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that the hardest American military strikes on Iran are still to come and that the next stage of the operation will be more severe for the country.
Quote: "But the hardest hits are yet to come from the US military. The next phase will be even more punishing on Iran than it is right now.
Someone was screaming, 'How long will it take?' I don't know how long it'll take. We have objectives. We will do this as long as it takes to achieve those objectives, and we will achieve those objectives."
Details: Rubio noted that the aim of the US operation is to destroy Iran's ballistic missile capabilities and its ability to manufacture them and to eliminate the threat posed by its naval fleet to global shipping.
Background:
- The US together with Israel are carrying out strikes on Iran.
- At the same time, US President Donald Trump officially said that the US has started a military campaign in Iran.
- Later Israel Defence Forces reported that it had recorded the launch of missiles from Iranian territory towards the State of Israel.
- Iran attacked Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates on 28 February after Israeli and US strikes on its territory.
- Loud explosions were reported on 1 March in Dubai and in Doha, the capital of Qatar, while Oman was struck for the first time as part of an expansion of what Iran described as retaliatory attacks on neighbouring Gulf states in response to US and Israeli strikes on the Islamic Republic of Iran.
