Over 1,700 targets hit in Iran, US military says

The United States has struck more than 1,700 targets in Iran in the course of its joint military operation with Israel.

Details: On Tuesday 3 March, US Central Command said over 1,700 targets in Iran have been hit since the start of Operation Epic Fury.

More than 1,000 targets had been reported hit as of 1 March.
The operation involves B-1 and B-52 bombers as well as F-15 fighter jets.
Background:
- As of 3 March, six US service members are known to have been killed in the operation.
- Three F-15 fighter jets were also lost due to friendly fire from Kuwaiti air defences.
- On 3 March, US President Donald Trump said it was "too late" for negotiations with Iran.
- Trump told the New York Post on Monday 2 March that he would not rule out deploying US troops in Iran and suggested it could become necessary.
