Iran rejects US proposal outlining potential ceasefire terms

Iran's leadership has rejected a US proposal setting out a "framework" for a potential agreement to end the war.
Source: Iran's Press TV, citing an unnamed senior official in Tehran, as reported by European Pravda
Details: According to the source, Iran's leadership "will not allow US President Donald Trump to dictate the timing of the war's end".
"Iran will end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met," the unnamed official said, adding that Iran is determined to continue defending itself and delivering "heavy blows" until its demands are fulfilled.
The source also said that the American side had initiated contacts through various diplomatic channels.
The proposed "15-point" demands were described as "excessive and disconnected from the reality of America's failure on the battlefield".
Reuters, citing its own senior Iranian source, reports that Tehran's response to the US proposals "was not positive" and that an initial reply has been conveyed to the United States via Pakistan.
The Iranian Fars news agency, as cited by US media, also quoted an unnamed official in Tehran as saying that Iran would not agree to such ceasefire terms and "entering such a process with those who have violated agreements is not logical," adding that Tehran aims to "achieve its strategic objectives" before agreeing to end the war.
Background:
- On 23 March, Donald Trump announced a five-day suspension of military strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure. On 24 March, he stated that the US is "holding talks" regarding Iran and that Tehran "would like to reach a deal".
- It was reported that the US side had presented Tehran with a 15-point proposal.
- Iran's military leadership responded mockingly, saying that the United States is "negotiating with itself".
