The beginning of these advances was, to some extent, the village of Hrabovske, and today the pressure continues near Myropillia, where enemy advances can be seen in the latest update."

Details: DeepState reported that the newly formed area of Russian control and infiltration (red and grey zones) along the border in Sumy Oblast currently amounts to about 150 sq km.

They also noted that Ukraine's defence forces are aware of Russia's plans, are monitoring developments and are working to counter efforts to expand its control.

Background:

  • In March 2026, DeepState reported that Russian forces had stepped up activity near the state border in Sumy Oblast and were attempting to expand their zone of control in border villages.
  • On 13 March, Russian troops advanced south of the village of Yablunivka in Sumy Oblast.
  • On 3 April, the Russians advanced near the village of Riasne in Sumy Oblast, close to the border with Russia.
