Olha Stefanishyna, Ukraine's Ambassador to the United States, has said she was present at the White House Correspondents' Dinner at the Washington Hilton hotel where a shooting occurred on the evening of 25 April.

- On the evening of 25 April in Washington, gunshots were heard during the White House Correspondents' Dinner at a hotel where Trump and Melania Trump were present; they were urgently evacuated.
- Law enforcement officials said the attacker was identified as 31-year-old teacher Cole Thomas Allen from Torrance, California. He was detained. The attacker's motives remain unknown.
