Drone wreckage found in Romania for third time in two days

New drone wreckage has been found in Tulcea County in Romania near the border with Ukraine, after wreckage from Russian drones had already been discovered following an overnight attack on Odesa Oblast the previous day.

Details: The ministry reported that the drone wreckage was found between the settlements of Luncavița and Văcăreni in Tulcea County.
The area is being guarded by officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Experts from the Ministry of Defence and the Romanian Intelligence Service have also been dispatched to investigate the incident and collect the wreckage for expert examination.
It is noted that a criminal investigation has been opened by the prosecutor's office at the Constanța Court of Appeal.
Background:
- The previous day, Romania's Ministry of Defence reported the discovery of drone wreckage that fell on the morning of 25 April in a residential area of Galați municipality and caused property damage. The wreckage was later neutralised by a team of experts from the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Romanian Intelligence Service.
- On the evening of 25 April, Romania's Ministry of Defence also reported the discovery of debris from a second drone near the settlement of Văcăreni in Tulcea County.
- The wreckage was found after Russia carried out another large-scale aerial attack on Ukraine on the night of 24-25 April, including near the Romanian-Ukrainian border.
- Romania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Russian ambassador on Saturday over the drone crash incident in the area of Galați.
