Russia attacks Ukraine with 123 drones, 95 intercepted

Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with 123 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones since the evening of 27 April. Ukrainian air defences have downed 95 UAVs, but hits have been recorded.

Quote: "As of 08:00, [Ukrainian] air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 95 drones in the country's north, south and east. Hits by 19 UAVs had been recorded at 16 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at 4 locations."

Details: The drones were launched from the Russian cities of Kursk, Oryol, Shatalovo, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as from Hvardiiske and Cape Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea.

About 80 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

The attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
