The previous attacks caused large-scale fires that took several days to extinguish. The destruction of 24 storage tanks has been confirmed, along with damage to four more and other infrastructure elements, effectively halting the plant's operations. Following the strike on 28 April, another fire broke out in the tank farm area, as confirmed by satellite imagery.

According to SSU, the 1 May strike by Ukrainian drones triggered a fire involving oil and fuel mixtures in storage tanks. A column of black smoke has been rising above the terminal.

The aftermath of the latest attack is still being confirmed, the Unmanned Systems Forces added.

In addition, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that over the past day Ukraine's defence forces struck facilities at the Perm oil refinery. Damage to the AVT-4 primary oil refining unit was confirmed, followed by a fire at the plant.

Over the same period, Ukrainian forces also successfully hit:

  • a Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile system near Olkhovatka in temporarily occupied Donetsk Oblast
  • ammunition storage points near Rozdolne in Donetsk Oblast and Rovenky in Luhansk Oblast
  • a logistics depot on the outskirts of Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia Oblast
  • a UAV storage facility near Dalneye, Russia's Belgorod Oblast
  • UAV control centres near Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, as well as Shevchenko and Voskresenka in Donetsk Oblast
  • a command and observation post near Kairy, Kherson Oblast.
