Death toll from Russian strike on Ukraine's Merefa rises to 7

The death toll from a Russian missile strike on the town of Merefa in Kharkiv Oblast on 4 May has risen to seven. Thirty-six other people were injured. Three days of mourning have been declared in the town.

Quote from the administration: "Sadly, a 68-year-old man has died in hospital. The medics did all they could to save him, but his injuries proved too severe.
Six people have been killed in the city in total."
Details: The Prosecutor's Office also said the number of people injured has risen to 36.
Two boys sought medical assistance: a 16-year-old was hospitalised, and a 17-year-old received the treatment he needed and will continue to receive outpatient treatment.
Doctors also treated a 2-year-old boy who had been cut by glass.
Update: In the evening, Syniehubov reported that a 59-year-old man who had suffered severe injuries in the attack has died in hospital. Despite doctors' efforts, he could not be saved.
At present, 14 people are still in hospital and are receiving the necessary care.
A period of mourning has been declared in the Merefa hromada from 5 to 7 May to honour those killed in the missile strike on 4 May. The corresponding order was signed by Mayor Veniamin Sitov.
