Russia attacks Ukraine with ballistic missile and 43 drones; strikes recorded at 6 locations

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 43 UAVs on the night of 8–9 May.

Details: According to the Air Force, 34 drones were either shot down or suppressed by electronic warfare systems.

A missile strike and hits by nine attack UAVs were recorded at six locations, while debris fell at two locations.

The Air Force noted that the attack began at 18:00 on 8 May but did not specify whether it continued after midnight, when the truce announced by Ukraine and Russia came into effect.

Background: On the evening of 8 May, Russian forces attacked civilian infrastructure in the village of Pecheniuhy in Chernihiv Oblast, killing one person and injuring two others.
