Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has congratulated Péter Magyar, Hungary's new Prime Minister, on taking office.

Details: Zelenskyy congratulated Magyar on the start of his tenure as prime minister of Hungary, noting that it is symbolic that his inauguration is taking place on Europe Day.

Background:

Earlier, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also congratulated Magyar.
On 9 May, Hungary's new government, led by Péter Magyar, leader of Tisza, the former opposition party, was sworn in and officially began its work.
Prior to that, a new Speaker was elected during the parliament's inaugural session; one of her first decisions was to return the EU flag to the parliament building.
